Having painted like a mad woman for many years with Jacque Michelle’s extraordinary art class I find that I would rather paint than do almost anything else. My parents met in art school in Chicago and my father was a professional painter. My sister was also a painter and I was fortunate to grow up in a house bathed with fine art.
Becoming a painter has been a life-affirming, totally enriching, disciplining and often mystifying endeavor. The process calms the nerves by de-cluttering the mind and letting the heart and hand become the masters of the moment.Putting paint on a brush or palette knife, living totally in the moment and watching it crush a canvas with intoxicating color and beauty is usually a great “EUREKA” moment in my life. Amazing what the mind and heart can create when let free to wander over a canvas.
